The Hype Debate – GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment – Yay or Nay?
If you’ve been anywhere near the beauty blogosphere chances are you probably heard about he GlamGlow masks. If by any chances you didn’t, they are pretty much an expensive brand of high-end as who supposedly does wonders for the skin and has already gained some major cult status. To be frank, I wasnt too kin on spending 49 Pounds on a face mask, simply because it sounded pretty expensive, but when the sales came marching in, and my face started its usual winter dryness I thought it might be an excellent excuse to give their ThirstyMud Hydrarting Treatment a go. Just for reference my skin is Combination to normal, it’s usually fairly normal but can occasionally be oiler around the T zone, but since the winter cold has come its seems the air conditioning flaked it up quite a bit.
My mom actually came by my flat and so I did managed to give her a hefty sample as well. For reference compare she has fairly normal skin, and obviously more mature and has occasional winter dry spots, and true enough, the very next day they all vanished. Her face looked plumper, her skin seemed to even grew a tad brighter and had a glowy effect and the obvious thing was, that every dry patch really did vanish and I was pleasantly surprised.
I used it a couple of days later after a morning dog walk left my skin on the rough side, and just like my mother I left it overnight, and it did live up to its expectation. All the try patches around my nose had disappeared overnight and my skin had that certain vavoom factor he was missing all week-long. I did have a small pimple surprise right next to my lip area, but since my nutrition changed so much lately, I can’t really put the blame on it.
My first thoughts about the packaging were, why on earth do you need to spend so much cardboard on such a small jar? I know it supposed to look elegant and all, but isn’t it a shame? The application itself was actually really nice. It has a cream like consistency that spreads easily and absorbs rather fast (either that or my skin was dehydrated) . It can be slightly tingly when applied but nothing too overbearing. Since it didn’t leave any oily residue I found it rather perfect as an overnight treatment plus you don’t really need a lot at all, I literally used a pea sized amount on m entire face which was pretty awesome
The GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment is formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates (I call it the PSP Trifecta, not to be confused with the console :)). It also contains Hyluronic acid which is a brilliant ingredient that make your skin plump up and helps seal in all that moistury goodness, making it perfect if you’re looking for that anti aging ‘oomph’. It also contains citric acid which is pretty much whats responsible for that dewy glowy look. Lastly, you get that sort of sweet coconuty smell that I kinda adore, so a big yay for that.
I have also recently found out that even though GlamGlow doesnt test on animals in the US, they do actually perform tests in china, as it is required there by law so If you wanna try it out, please get it from a european or an american distributer. No product deserves the torture of another living being over it.
Have you tried a GlamGlow product yet? If so, what do you think? Is it worth the hype?
Lots of Love
