My dog celebrated her first birthday three weeks ago, and along all of the bit and pits of struggles, shoe chewing, utter mess and strange array of pee puddles roaming around the flat, I could honestly say I can’t see my life without my little furry
mother of dragons.
Everyone around me might think I’m slightly insane, having to repurchase around a dozen pairs of shoes and clean my house on a bi daily basis, but looking at that cuddly destructive face, I can honestly say I can’t see myself without. I’ve had you for 1 year already, and the ease and spirit lifting you bring me on a daily basis is pretty much priceless. Yeah, sure. You might be the most stubborn dog I knew, and way too smart than any dog I ever knew too (I mean really? does any of YOUR dogs know how to open up the fridge?), but you are mine.
News says (if you haven’t heard yet) that Oreo, that darn perfect little cookie, is vegan. And what better way to celebrate this deliciously awesome cookie but with an ice cream cake? I know what you’re gonna say – ‘Hey Allie, an Ice cream cake made of Oreos is probably not the healthiest sugary sweet in the bunch!”, and yeah, Youre absolutely right about it. But hey, it was a birthday cake (not my own), and what better way to splurge then someone’s birthday? So if you’re looking for a wickedly good, healthier and a dairy free version of a Oreo Ice Cream cake I’ve got you settled here with an awesome recipe came up with. Hope you’ll like it as much as the birthday boy did (Hint, hint – a lot!)
I haven’t had time to do anything lately. I seem to have been working my A** off while everyone around me keeps taking a vacation one after the other (pardon my language) and in the midst of being both physically and mentally exhausted, I just get irritated and tired, or tired and irritated. those two usually come in pair for me.
I think I might just have to admit I have a huge problem here, and as much as I try to eat as healthy as possible I always seem to fall of the wagon and break. Yep. I have an addiction. But its not the alcoholic nor any other self destroying ones (depends of who you ask). I love chocolate! I crave it like a mad person whenever I feel sad, or bad. Whenever that time of the month comes, and whenever that irritating sweet tooth jumps by and bids its hello.
We’ve officially past summer solstice and made our way into summer people, and even though I am technically a proud wintery gal, some things about the sunny season are undeniably precious. Besides the fact that the Sun has been widely regarded as a cure for depression, and as an excellent source of Vitamin D, summer is the time to get out of the house and just enjoy a new kind of energy. Even if you’re a homey kind of person, like me. You have a chance to get out, catch some color. Drink some Ice Tea and just travel and have fun. Wether its to another country. Laying down a sandy beach or just cozying around a lawn chair in the back yars.
The excitement of trying something new is addicting. You feel so dazed and divine. In one moment of success you are made sure that nothing and no one can actually break you and you start falling back in love with yourself. It happens to all of us and rarely even, lasts forever. But sometimes, one failed act. One bad day, ruins it all altogether and nearly breaks yourself to a thousand pieces
I think one of the most undeniably annoying things you’ve got going for you as a vegan is the lack of variety you get when you are actually on a budget. You crave for some substance but most of the store-bought patties can cost a fortune.
The matter itself goes pretty much haywire when you actually have a chef for a brother and an amazing mom that cooks mouth throbbing foods every Friday, when everybody is just clobbering away during dinner and you end up eating salads and some rice for like the hundred time.
I’ve been Vegan for about half a year now and one of the things I’ve missed most would probably have to be white chocolate. I’ve searched high and low and could not for the life of me find a non dairy version of white chocolate, And if there one thing any of you would probably have to know about me is that when I crave something, I would run miles and miles to get it. So I have tinkered with a couple variation and thought I’d share them with you. FYI, the ingredients are not at all cheap, quite the opposite actually. But if you wanna treat yourself, you might as well do a good job out of it.
There is a saying I’m sure you’ve all heard somewhere before that goes something like – If there is a chance something bad is ever gonna happen there, you better believe its gonna happen to me, and true enough, It might as well have been written solely about me.
I was raised the youngest with 4 older brother, so something in that environment made my tom boyish side embrace itself, and made me a bit more uninhibited when it comes to taking risks. True, I don’t necessarily lack common sense, but I am less afraid them most of the girls my age as I always has been.
We are nearing our wintery departure while my favourite season says its goodbye, and boy time does fly by when your having fun, doesn’t it? Now despite this is all being written of my couch while my twisted little toey is recovering, and me probably being a tad off on account of all of the drugs and all (Oversharing much?), I did manage to find several amazing product I literally fell in love with this last month, so without further adu, here are my marching march favourites 🙂
